Ring by Spring is the directorial debut of TV writer Elizabeth Sherman (Chicago Fire). The short film follows a wide-eyed freshman, Susie, who tries anything and everything to get an engagement ring by the spring of her senior year of college. Ring By Spring is a dark comedy about the societal pressure to get married early experienced by young women on college campuses in the Southern US. It seems like something from the 1950s, but it's a crazy phenomenon happening today -- one Elizabeth experienced firsthand at college in Texas.
